About Delorie Law
Lou has been practicing law since 1980, representing consumers and injured people throughout the State of Washington. He has recently been admitted to the Arizona State Bar Association and is now dividing his time between the two states. His successes include multiple verdicts and settlements in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death and medical malpractice claims. From trucking cases and motorcycle accidents to questions involving insurance coverage Lou has consistently obtained excellent results for his clients.
As a long standing member of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ; formerly known as the Washington Trial Lawyers Association) Lou has served on the Board of Governors and in various leadership positions. He has been a speaker at seminars on insurance law and personal injury claims. He was presented with the prestigious Alvin Anderson award in 2003 for his tireless efforts to support the WSAJ and its mission to protect the legal rights of consumers and injured people of Washington.
Lou graduated from the University of Washington in 1977 with a BA in Communications. He went on to study law at the University of San Diego and graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1980. Lou also graduated from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy Skills Program in 1981 and the Advanced Trial Advocacy Skills Course in 1986. In 200 Lou completed the 40 hour Mediation Course in Santa Barbara CA. For four years in a row Lou has been named a "Washington State Super Lawyer" by Washington Law and Politics Magazine. He has been rated "AV" by the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory, the nation's oldest and most highly respected legal rating organization. The "AV" rating denotes the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards and is based on the results of confidential voting throughout the Washington State legal community.
A committed community member, Lou has been active in Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Yakima Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross for five years. He and his wife Nikki are avid supporters of the Humane Society of Central Washington and were pivotal in organizing and hosting the Bark in the Park events which helped to raise funds for the shelter. They also personally boosted adoptions from the shelter by taking home a three legged Blue Heeler named Lily, who now rules the roost.
Lou and Nikki have been married for 17 years and maintain homes in Yakima, WA and Fountain Hills, AZ. When not working, Lou enjoys playing the piano and is a self professed "gym rat" who exercises daily. He has two grown children and is the proud grandparent of six.
